The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is an international organization that was born 200 years ago in Great Britain and has had a presence in Norway for a century. The Costa Blanca branch is made up of Scandinavians living in l’Alfàs del Pi, mostly Norwegians, willing to contribute their grain of sand to solidarity and social projects.

Antonio Viso, president of Social Volunteering, thanks this new donation from Odd Fellows Costa Blanca, and encourages them to continue collaborating.

The Social Volunteering of l’Alfàs is a non-profit association that has been dedicated since 2013 to serving residents of the municipality at risk of social exclusion. It currently has about fifty volunteers who spend much of their free time collecting, sorting and distributing clothes and food, as well as caring for the elderly and sick. In addition, they develop awareness campaigns among the population aimed at promoting a culture of solidarity in the municipality.

The association appreciates the constant support they receive, both from private citizens and from institutions and public and private entities. The list of collaborators is long, from the city council itself to groups of retirees, clubs of residents of other nationalities, sports and party groups, schools, banks, business associations, NGOs, companies and businesses… In short, a large group of people of different nationalities and ages, whom the Social Volunteering Association would like to thank and encourage to continue lending their collaboration.
